Another pretty badass single shot hallway fight scene in episode 4 of the new season <3 <3 this one is the best so far, imo, it's two separate fight scenes, then one really important plot scene, then an escape scene all in one 10 minute long single shot. wow.

Yeah, I'm watching season 3 now, and there's an action sequence... I don't even want to give away which episode I just finished, because it's not really telegraphed. The scene begins innocuously enough, and just gets bigger and bigger until it's one 15 minute long take and everything is on fire. Could hardly believe it. I just paused the show to go read about it, and it turns out they really did do it in one cut.

But brien said it was 10 minutes and Mac's took 15 minutes. Mac must have been watching slower.

One problem I have with Daredevil, and especially season 3:

Okay, so Daredevil is supposed to be this super awesome fighter. He's so awesome that even though he's blind he's been trained to "see" things differently, obviously in a way that's at least as good as regular vision.

So why is he the 3rd best fighter this season? He keeps getting beaten up. He's like Worf on ST:TNG. They bill him as a badass but he regularly gets stomped.

Also, as I recall, Fisk pretty much embarrassed him in a fight in a previous season. How come in the final episode he could finally beat him? I mean he was able to bodily pick up the 2nd best fighter and break his spine.

All that said, though, that ending fight was pretty amazing. Very interesting twist forcing Daredevil to defend Fisk and his bride *and* fight Fisk and Dex.
    - Definitely

Well, Kingpin in the comics is a goddamn dreadnought. For a guy with no superpowers, he goes toe-to-toe with Daredevil, Punisher, Spider-Man, Captain America, etc. with alarming regularity.

And Bullseye ("Dex") is lethal as heck.

If you're gonna do a totally mundane, streetfight-level story with one superpowered guy kicking the asses of a bunch of thugs, I guess that's fine. But when you introduce supervillains, you have to make sure they're at least a match for the hero.

Ok good, I was hoping I didn't miss something. Dex is/will be Bullseye. Gotcha. I mean, it seemed pretty clear, but there was nothing overt so I wondered if they were just playing the character like that but not naming him.

Point of note, Daredevil got cancelled from Netflix, do you think Disney will pick it up for their new platform when they presumably consolidate all their properties? I would like to see more Daredevil. Ironfist can suck a dick, never even watched this season. I'd like more Jessica Jones. I even have a soft spot for Luke Cage.

One other thing to keep in mind about season 3 is that he's completely dependent on his hearing, and that got badly fucked up somehow. It didn't seem like he ever got over it, either -- he just learned how to operate by reading vibrations through the ground, or something. Which strikes me as considerably less effective in general. So he can't "see" anymore, he never pauses to heal any of his injuries, he spends most of his time coughing up blood, and now he gets to fight Fisk and Dex at the same time.

I should probably watch Defenders to figure out how he got so beat up. Suit destroyed, will to continue crumbling, hearing severely damaged, etc. But then I'd have to watch Iron Fist and Luke Cage, and nothing could make me do that.

The last shot of season 3 is Dex being operated on to repair his spine, and his eyes fly open and you see a little bullseye pattern (reflecting?) on his iris, just in case it wasn't clear from the fact that Benjamin Poindexter is in fact one of Bullseye's alter-ego names.

I guess the ratings were down pretty significantly in every season of Daredevil, and DD was Netflix's most successful Marvel show by a wide margin. If Disney wants to pick something up, I'm sure it'd be Daredevil, but I don't know that they'll go with the same continuity. They seem to be fans of going their own way, based on what they've done with Star Wars...
