True enough, the defense was disappointing, and Brees should have a field day. Not 100% pleased about the officials in the last game (Young's TD, 2 fumbles called from ground contacts, only one reversed), but if you can't stop Matt Flynn, Brees will set a record Saturday unless Suh stomps him several times during the coin flip. Lions are a year or 2 away.

SB prediction for me is GB vs. Baltimore.

I just noticed that Matt Flynn's one start gave him as many touchdown passes (six) as four other NFL quarterbacks in 2011:

    • Sam Bradford (10 starts)
    • Curtis Painter (8 starts)
    • Jason Campbell (6 starts)
    • Dan Orlovsky (5 starts)

Furthermore, it also gives him more touchdown passes than these guys:

    • Donovan McNabb (4 TD, 6 starts)
    • T.J. Yates (3 TD, 5 starts)
    • Tyler Palko (2 TD, 4 starts)
    • Caleb Hanie (3 TD, 4 starts)
    • Chad Henne (4 TD, 4 starts)

This is less about how awesome Flynn is than how awful those guys are. What the hell happened to Bradford?

He plays on the Rams. That's what happened.

Just giving props to my Lions, great season and a bright future. I was mad for maybe 10 minutes after the Saints second half explosion, then figured what would the odds be that the Lions beat the Saints, Packers, Niners, and Pats/Ravens? Nada. Great season, hope Suh gets some anger management help.

Yup, the Lions made some huge strides this year, and there's no reason for anything but optimism. That offense is horrifying.

This seems to be a year for prolific offenses. 5 Quarterbacks passing for over 4500 yds? eesh.

Or further rule changes that make it even harder for defensive backs to stop receivers or even impede their progress.
