I wanted to see Midsommar real bad, but it was out of theaters before I got a chance. It's by Ari Aster, the guy who made Hereditary, which was real good. So, put Ari Aster on the list of dudes who make good horror movies these days.

Another dude on that list seems to be Osgood Perkins. The Blackcoat's Daughter was great, and so now I'm looking forward to Gretel & Hansel.

Since I'm making lists, I'll also throw Jordan Peele out there. Get Out was an instant all-time horror classic, and while I didn't think Us was on the same level, it was still damn good. Peele set an implausibly high bar with his first movie.
