I'm making a thread for Weird Al, because I know Brien hates him and I'm not sure why.
Such a nice article! I think if I ever found out Weird Al was an asshole behind the scenes, my heart would break.

I'm pretty sure he's a genuinely nice guy.
Hah, funny that you called that out. When I saw this new thread my immediate first thought was "Why the heck did i used to trash talk weird all the time, I should go in this thread and ask if anybody remembers and then apologize"
Seems I already now know that you remember so here I am to apologize. I still don't remember why.
I'm sorry, I was wrong.
I can only think of one other universally-beloved celebrity who's had as long of a career in the public eye, about whom I have no reservations -- no "well, he got a little too political that one time," no "he said that seemingly-racist thing once," no nasty backstage anecdotes from autograph-seekers or rumors of infidelity, nothing -- and that one other celebrity is Mister Rogers. Weird Al and Mister Rogers.
Pretty sure Bill Nye is pretty well vetted too. If I'm wrong, shut up.
He's getting a little too politically active to be entirely inoffensive. I happen to agree with him and I think his activism is a good thing, but he's taking a hit in the "universally beloved" department for his efforts.
I was unreasonably excited when John Oliver introduced Weird Al.

And hot damn, Yankovic's like 73 years old and still rocking a respectable high kick!
Weird Al made it impossible for me to ever watch the "Beat It" video with a straight face ever again.
- Definitely
EDIT: I have no idea why Weezer did this, but I appreciate it:
