I watched some other SU&SD reviews and they're pretty entertaining:

I just watched that Gloomhaven review, too. It's a $140 game ($105-115 on Amazon) and the Broken Token organizer is another $80. I was interested in Gloomhaven until I watched the Broken Token guide to assembly. I don't have the sort of life where I can sit with friends and do this multiple times per month for years and years. We've all got jobs.

Has anyone played Diplomacy? I had a chance to last weekend, it was fun.

Apparently people play it via mail and other remote methods. Perhaps something to try?

My friend Mike is a board game collector. He has many games and bought many through kickstarters. He's had Gloomhaven for at least a couple years, but we've never played it. Always been a bit daunting.

Never tried it. Correspondence Diplomacy sounds interesting though.

It was fun to play in person, but could be fun to play online too. If we can arrange a board/map of some sort we could probably use the forums to post and communicate privately.

One of the most popular Kickstarter board games of the past few years, Gloomhaven, is over $100 on AMZN and up to $140 if you buy it at your FLGS. It's also complex to set up and, as you can see a bit further up this thread, complex to organize. It's just plain complex. The complexity and cost are imposing barriers to entry, and I've never had the chance to try this game.

Which makes it a perfect candidate for an online version! And oh look, here it is in Early Access for $25.
