This pretty much describes my experience. I hadn't paid for a PC game in years when Steam finally beat it out of me. Now I haven't pirated one in years.

I agree.... I have not had someone else pirate a game for me in a LONG time
I'm thinking of pirating Miner Wars just to get back at them for the hour long loading screen.
Yeah, I'm really disappointed in Miner Wars. We probably weren't doing it right, but still, even if the rest of the game was awesome, those loading screens pretty much kill it.
SteamOS announced. huh?

Yep, they have been talking about that for a while now and they are finally going to pull the trigger on their own version of a console system, well in basic terms anyways.
I did get a kick out the pet name people have been giving for the rumored console device, the 'Gabecube'.
I can't believe it. After playing FTL a zillion times I was on the verge of winning. I had a ton of missles, two pulse laser cannons II, level 4 shields, and I had already shot a section off the rebel mothership. It jumped away. I jumped to a nearby sector and was asked if I wanted to chase a different rebel ship going after some transports. Like a moron I said yes. Then a little screen comes up saying that the rebel mothership is in range of the base and I lose.
I had him and I lost him.
Argh!
